Paloma Ronquillo

Paloma Ronquillo is a Los Angeles–based cinematographer.

Paloma earned a degree in Cinematic Arts and Technology from California State University, Monterey Bay, while freelancing and working as a camera operator with Local 611.

Determined to further develop her skills, she went on to earn an MFA in Cinematography from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television.

She is a two-time recipient of the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant and an Associate Member of the Society of Camera Operators (S.O.C.).

Passionate about the representation of women and Latinx creatives in film, Paloma strives to create greater opportunity and equity within the industry. Her efforts are consistently reflected in both her work and the on-set culture she fosters. Paloma has been featured by the Chicana Directors Initiative and was awarded the Emerging Filmmaker Award for Cinematography by Women in Media.

Her goal is always to bring a distinct artistic and technical vision to every project, along with a culture of creative play. She believes the creative process should be collaborative, filled with laughter and positive energy, and provide an enjoyable environment for everyone involved.

Paloma’s work has been shown at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and many more.

With bold artistry and a commitment to emotionally rich storytelling, Paloma crafts visually compelling narratives with lasting impact.
